About Seventh-day Adventists
The Seventh-day Adventist Church is a mainstream Protestant church with approximately 19 million members worldwide, including more than one million members in North America. The Seventh-day Adventist Church seeks to enhance quality of life for people everywhere and to let people know that Jesus is coming again soon.
Adventists believe a Trinity of three persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—make up one God. They made salvation possible when Jesus, the Son, came to earth as a baby in Bethlehem and lived a sinless life in accordance with the Father's will. When Jesus was crucified for the sins of the people of the world and arose from the dead on the third day, victory was won for everyone.
When He returned to heaven following the resurrection, Jesus left the Holy Spirit to serve as our Comforter and Counselor. He promised to return to earth a second time to complete His plan of salvation and take His people to heaven. Adventists are among the believers who look forward to that day.
Adventists believe that God is concerned with the quality of human life, and that everything—the way we live, eat, speak, think, treat each other, and care for the world around us—is part of His plan. Our families, our children, our jobs, our talents, our money, and our time are all important to Him.

A Short History of the Oakhill SDA church:
The Three Angels Message first came to the Greater East St. Louis area in the form of a tent effort in the summer of 1929. At the conclusion of the tent meetings, 17 people took their stand and a charter membership for the three angels was established.
The young church struggled through the great depression, holding the meetings in an Odd Fellows Hall and later in a small church building purchased in the Landsdown area of East St. Louis. As the membership grew, that building was sold and in the Spring of 1952 another series of tent meetings were sponsored by the Illinois Conference of Seventh-Adventists. Having sold their church and not able to find housing elsewhere, the congregation spent the entire Summer and Fall in the tent. The cold weather forced them to find other facilities. So from the tent they moved to a hall over a bowling alley. From there they moved to a renovated chicken coop. Later, they moved to a YMCA. Services were held at the "Y" for more than a year.
After much struggling and searching, they found a church and purchased it. The church, formerly the "The Oak Park Baptist Church" was renamed the East St. Louis Seventh-day Adventist Church. It was here the church started growing and expanding. This is where the church school was started. For almost twenty years they were at this location serving as the lighthouse for the "The Three Angels" message. This was not the only Seventh-day Adventist in the area. There were two sister churches, now named the New Jerusalem Seventh-day Adventist church and the Greater Alton Seventh-day Adventist church. A fourth Seventh-day Adventist church located in Washington Park was started soon after.
In the early 70's the church sold their building in East St. Louis and moved to the city of Collinsville. Here they purchased the former "Assembly of God" church. They worshiped in that building from 1971 to the Spring of 1987. While having the name "Collinsville Seventh-day Adventist" church, their membership swelled to over a hundred members. Then, from the Summer 1986 through the Spring of 1987, they constructed the current church building and grounds in Caseyville, Illinois. The name changed to "Oakhill Seventh-day Adventist" church and is conveniently located off highway 159, the church has endeavored to maintain it's ministries of education and outreach.
As we look forward to a GREAT finishing of God's message, we pray and trust this building will be the last move, but not the last church.
